Our house, Casa Giardino is situated approx 50 Km (28 Miles) east of Florence. The house is in the historic village of Spalanni with the nearest large village being Strada/Castel San Niccolo with a wide range of local shops being about 5 minutes away by car. The closest shop to the house is 3 or 4 minutes away. The closest town is Bibbiena which is 15 minutes by car. Arezzo, the provincial capital is about 40 minutes away. The house is well placed to explore the local area and to allow visits to Florence, Chianti, Sienna, Cortona and even Rome can be reached from Arezzo in an hour by train. The small village of Spalanni - a collection of ancient stone cottages nestling above the larger villages of Strada and Castel San Nicolo. We enjoy spectacular views across the valley and the mountains beyond. The village was once a 13th century convent.
